Cairngorm Coffee - For Those Who Care

Partnered with independent coffee company Cairngorm Coffee and marketing agency Story Shop to create a heartfelt Christmas campaign film - a character-driven story about a gran discovering specialty coffee culture in an attempt to reconnect with her family.

Tasked with creating something emotionally impactful and cinematic. Essentially, to make a John Lewis advert with a fraction of the budget... we needed a Christmas miracle...

Cairngorm and Story Shop gave us huge creative freedom throughout the process, allowing the film to find its own tongue-in-cheek, funny, human tone.​

Most importantly, the campaign helped reinforce Cairngorm’s identity as an independent brand with genuine warmth, personality, and community at its core.​

A reminder that a good story, and lovely collaborators, matter far more than a massive budget. Christmas miracle indeed.

"We had a real desire to develop a Christmas ad because, quite honestly, it felt like such a whacky thing for a small business to attempt against the John Lewis backdrop that has become synonymous with Christmas advertising. For it to achieve the absurdity we were aiming for, it needed to feel unexpectedly polished and emotionally sincere. The benchmark I set for success was that people would simultaneously feel genuinely moved by the tenderness of it, while also wondering, 'How on earth did Cairngorm pull this off?'
